Why a Soft Donkey Plushie Makes the Perfect First Toy for Babies
By phil
There’s something truly special about a baby’s first soft toy. It becomes a comfort, a companion and often a much-loved keepsake that lasts for years. Our Small Donkey is one of those toys — sweet, squishy and made with the tiniest hands in mind. Whether you’re shopping for a newborn gift or looking to grow a little one’s farm animal collection, this charming 18cm plushie ticks every box.
Safe from Day One
One of the biggest concerns for new parents is safety, and rightly so. Our Small Donkey is suitable from birth and fully conforms to EU safety standards, carrying the CE symbol so you can feel completely confident. Made from 100% polyester, it’s hypoallergenic and wonderfully gentle against a baby’s delicate skin. No scratchy bits, no hard parts — just pure softness.
Developmental Benefits of Soft Toy Animals
Soft toys aren’t just cuddly — they actually support early childhood development in some lovely ways:
- Sensory exploration: Babies learn through touch, and an ultra-soft plushie encourages tactile discovery from the very first weeks.
- Emotional comfort: A familiar toy can help soothe anxiety at bedtime or during new experiences.
- Language development: Naming animals and making sounds together builds early vocabulary in toddlers.
- Imaginative play: As children grow, farm animal plushies inspire creative storytelling and role play.
Easy Care for Busy Parents
Let’s be honest — soft toys get grubby. That’s why we made our Small Donkey fully machine washable and tumble dry safe on a cool heat setting. A quick wash and it’ll be as good as new, ready for more adventures. No hand-wash-only stress here!
A Gift Worth Giving
Priced between £19.50 and £24.50, the Small Donkey makes a brilliant gift for baby showers, christenings, first birthdays or simply because.
